A different way of thinking about childhood, learning and family life.
Weekly reflections on childhood, learning outside conventional systems, community, freedom, and building family life a little differently.
There are some things you only learn by living them.
Tay Tai began as a small homeschooling community in Hoi An.
But somewhere between the beach days, workshops, mixed-age friendships, field trips, experiments, mistakes and ordinary afternoons together, it became a much bigger exploration of childhood itself.
What do children actually need?
Where does meaningful learning happen?
What makes a childhood rich?
How do we create community when the conventional structures don't fit?
And what happens when we stop trying to fill every hour and leave a little more room for childhood to unfold?
The Tay Tai Letters are where I explore those questions.
INSIDE THE LETTERS
Childhood - what children may need more of, and less of.
Learning - the education happening outside lessons, worksheets and classrooms.
Community - what becomes possible when children and families have somewhere to belong.
Family life - reflections on choosing a slightly less conventional path.
Not a curriculum.
Not parenting instructions.
Not another list of things you should be doing.
Just one thoughtful letter each week from what we're living, noticing and questioning.
